Schengen Member States Important Note: Indian Nationals can obtain a short- stay visa which ranges from one to ninety days, valid for all nations of the Schengen Territory which are Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Norway, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, and Switzerland. The Schengen Convention is an exceptional step closer to freedom of stream of humans. Foreigners can travel to any state and re-enter the same by traveling through different Schengen states without having to ask for a visa again. Application for visas must be submitted with the ready Consular government, which might be to be determined in line with the following standards

If the Applicant intends to stay in one Country only, the application should be submitted at the Consulate of the same nation.
If the Applicant wishes to travel to the several Member States, the application should be submitted at the first port of entry state where the main purpose of travel lies and the stay is long.
If the main destination cannot be determined, the Country of the first port of entry into the Schengen Territory is regarded as the competent Consular office for processing the application.

Short-term Tourist Visa Checklist

Passport with a validity of a minimum of 6 months along with the photocopy.
Copy of Passport's front and back pages.
Visa application duly filled.
Two recent passport-size photographs (35x45mm with 80% face).
Covering letter
Proof of Occupation
Leave Letter from the company for salaried.
Proof of funds (Bank statements, Salary Slips, Company Bank statement too for Businessmen)
Income Tax papers for the last three consecutive years.
Hotel Booking Confirmation
Round-trip Air ticket
Itinerary
Travel Insurance (Minimum equivalent to 30,000 Euros and should be valid for all Schengen countries)

Note: - Additional documents or personal presence at the time of submission or after the submission may be asked by the Embassy.

Long-term Tourist Visa Checklist

Passport with a validity of a minimum of 6 months along with the photocopy.
Copy of Passport's front and back pages.
Visa application duly filled.
Two recent passport-size photographs (35x45mm with 80% face).
An invitation letter from concerned authority from Malta requesting for a Visa.
A Covering letter from the Indian company mentioning the designation and current profile of the applicant, purpose of the visit, itinerary, name & contacts of the company in Malta
Proof of Occupation
Leave Letter from the company for salaried.
Proof of funds (Bank statements, Salary Slips, Company Bank statement too for Businessmen)
Income Tax papers for the last three consecutive years.

Note: - Additional documents or personal presence at the time of submission or after the submission may be asked by the Embassy. Note: With effect from 2 November 2015, Indian citizens requesting a short-term Schengen visa will have to appear in person to provide biometric data and a digital photograph. For subsequent applications within the next 5 years, the biometric data will be copied from the previous visa application included in the VFS.
